S-bahn Frankfurt Oder to the Zielona Góra Airport
There soon will be 40 years since the plans for the airport between Berlin and Poznań were formulated and realised.
As economist, I see a great opportunity in the idea to connect the Flughafen Berlin- Frankfurt (Oder) Berlin- Frankfurt (Oder) Airport (Polish: Port Lotniczy Zielona Góra-Babimost) to the passenger rail network.
I think that the airport between Poznań and Berlin will survive, if we invest lots of money into connecting it to the rail network.
Two new rail sections are needen- one to connect the line from Frankfurt- Oder to the line to Babimost- avoiding the change of direction at Zbąszynek, and- another short 1500 meter track is needed to connect the airport with Frankfurt (Oder), using a dedicated service, the S-Bahn Frankfurt (Oder).
The train would start in Frankfurt (Oder), stopping at Słubice, Kunowice, Rzepin, Torzym, Toporów, Świebodzin, Babimost, Airport Berlin - Frankfurt/Port Lotniczy Zielona Góra. The journey time should be about 40-50 minutes.
